Pembee application fee and Stripe payment processing fee reports

This guide helps you understand how to generate a report detailing the card payment processing fees you've paid to Stripe and Pembee. This may be necessary for financial activities such as year-end tax filing. Note that Pembee's revenue report does not include any card payment processing fees.

Step 1: Access Your Stripe Account

  • Log in to your Stripe account. Make sure to use the account linked to your Pembee service.
  • Navigate to the left panel in your Stripe dashboard. Click on 'More' to expand the menu if necessary and select Reports.

Step 2: Generate the Balance Report

  • Within the Reports section, choose Balance from the available options.
  • Use the date picker to select the accounting period for the year you wish to report on.
  • Run the report. Note: Generating a full-year report might take some time.

Step 3: Review Fees in the Report

  • Once the report is available, check the "Balance summary" table.
  • Locate the line labeled "Less fees". This line item includes all payment processing fees from Stripe and any application fees from Pembee, including Pembee UK VAT if you are based in the UK.

Step 4: Check VAT Amount (UK Customers only)

If you are UK VAT registered, you should be able to claim back the UK VAT charged by Pembee since January 2024 when Pembee started charging UK VAT. In the example above, a small portion of the £22.03 fees is Pembee UK VAT. To get the UK VAT Amount:

  • Log in to your Pembee admin area.
  • Navigate to Settings > Pembee Subscription > Receipts.
  • Here, you can review and sum up the VAT for the relevant months of your reporting period.
